“I love a well-curated store that has a little bit of everything and space519 is just that. It’s my go-to spot when I’m looking for gifts (as they have a great home and apothecary selection) but I always end up getting something for myself too (because the accessories and clothes are also on point!) I always discover new brands and designers when I come here. The owners are constantly on the hunt for the newest, coolest things in all aspects of design from all over the world…so it’s great to have it all in one central location.” – Jena

Felt

2317 N Milwaukee Ave

“One of the newer boutiques on the list, I knew Felt was going to be a hit right away. I met one of the owners, Cat Dunton, when she was working at Satine in LA (one of my favorite boutiques there). We kept in touch ever since and I was so excited when she told me she was going to open a store in Chicago. She has great taste and it shows in the store — it’s a solid mix of contemporary designers (both established and emerging, including some local designers!) She also throws some pretty fun in-store events!” – Jena

Rider

“Another new(ish) boutique, I’m so glad Rider decided to open in the West Loop. I’ve been waiting for some good retail to pop up over there for a while and this store is exactly what the neighborhood needs. Owner, Lauren McGrady, is also an interior designer…and you can tell when you see the furnishings and the light fixtures in the store…they’re so good (and they’re all for sale by the way!) Rider also has quite the mix of offerings — clothing (both new and vintage), apothecary, accessories, etc. (even my favorite, Compartes chocolate!)” – Jena

Ikram

15 E Huron St, Chicago,

“No ‘best boutiques in Chicago’ (or best boutiques in general) list is complete without Ikram. The store is a Chicago staple…and it’s not just a store, it’s an experience. Any true fashion lover’s dreams come true the second you walk in the door. It’s a sensory overload with the best high end designers you’ll ever lay eyes on (Alaia, Chanel, Nina Ricci, Proenza Schouler…you name it, she’s got it). Random tip…although everything at Ikram is incredible, she has some of the best hosiery (tights and socks) I’ve ever come across. Was never a fan of either until I started shopping there! And it’s an added bonus that the cafe upstairs is amazing — everything is super fresh and always delicious (actually one of my favorite restaurants in the city!)” – Jena

212 W Chicago Ave

“I love that Blake has been in business for years yet they don’t have a sign (so you just have to know where it is!) or even a website. It’s pretty badass. Also super high end like Ikram, but it’s a completely different experience. I always describe Blake as the best multi-designer showroom ever (plus an extra dose of Dries Van Noten). Warning: you’ll want to touch everything…I always do!” – Jena

My style mantra is to wear what makes you feel good. It’s fun to step outside your comfort zone every once in a while and try something new, but at the end of the day I like to say you do you (when it comes to everything in life…but especially fashion!)

Jena Gambaccini

Happy shopping!
